Learning to Rebuild Broken Trust

It's important to realize something about rebuilding trust; you can never fix or change another person. Also, it's impossible to make them feel a particular way towards you or force them to agree with your point of view.

Many times, they are going through issues in their life that have nothing at all to do with you personally. Patience is key if you're serious about reconnecting and rebuilding trust.

Dating

The first thing to consider is why the trust was broken in the first place so you can prevent it from happening in the future. Consider the following steps to put things right and regain your loved one's trust.

- Sincerely Apologize
Offering a sincere apology is step one after a wrongdoing and it must be genuine and heartfelt in order to be effective.

- Quietly Listen
Many times the best course of action to take is to just sit quietly, close your mouth, and simply listen to the other person. This lets them know you truly care what they have to say as well as value their feelings and opinions.

- Keep Your Promises
Try to never make a promise you don't intend to keep. Breaking promises time after time puts you in a bad and untrustworthy light, as someone who can't be trusted.

- Openly Communicate
Always speak from the heart and say what you mean. Every strong relationship maintains open communication at its core.

Learning to Rebuild Broken Trust

- Empathize
Try to put yourself in the other person's shoes and see things from their viewpoint. This will help you to better understand their feelings in addition to making it easier to forgive them of any offenses they may have made against you. Also, empathy is a key tool in rebuilding trust with another person.

- Establish Dependability and Consistency
If you remain consistent in your actions and establish a sense of dependability along the way, the other person will find it much easier to trust you.

Learn to Forgive

What if you were the person on the receiving end of the distrust and the other party is striving to regain your trust? Betrayal isn't easy to overcome and can be very painful.
Forgiveness doesn't come easy, nor does trust in the case of betrayal. However, with a little bit of work and an open heart and mind, it can be achieved.

If you find yourself in a position where a person you love has lost your trust and they wish to regain it, that decision is indeed entirely yours. However, once you make that decision it's imperative you stick by it since it's going to take a lot of work on both parties to set things right again. Here are a few guidelines on how to make that happen.

- Leave the Past Behind
If you truly mean it when you say you forgive someone, throwing past events back in their face is totally unfair and also hinders any progress the two of you have to reconcile. The past is gone and you can't change it - let it go and start fresh.

- Don't Use Threats
Don't threaten someone in an attempt to control their behavior in order to meet your needs and desires. This never works and will only backfire in time.

- Reaffirm Your Commitment to One Another
Upon overcoming and forgiving the event that led to the broken trust, reaffirm one another's commitment to rebuilding your relationship even stronger. This is crucial for both parties to agree on to be successful.

Lastly, try to be as patient as possible. Rebuilding trust doesn't happen overnight. Allow the other person enough time to show you they can be trustworthy again.

How to Get Your Man Back Without Looking Desperate

If you're a female desperately trying to get your ex back, it's likely you're taking a needy approach that's making you do things you normally wouldn't do. Sound familiar?

Don't be too hard on yourself though, we've all been there. You will survive this and come out better on the other side. In the meantime, this out-of-character, desperate behavior is only pushing him farther away and making you look like a doormat in his eyes.

Dating

Stop this dead-end behavior and try the following approaches instead to win him back and grow even closer than before with your dignity intact.

1. Don't argue with him as to why the relationship ended no matter how difficult it may be. If he brings it up, just listen to him and do not disagree. Perhaps there's some truth to what he is saying? Be the bigger person and acknowledge his point and simply apologize.

Would you rather be 100% right, or reconcile your relationship? Here's a clue - rarely is someone ever 100% right about anything. As long as you know the truth, that's all that matters. If you're in the wrong, a little humble pie goes a long way.

2. Don't point out all the reasons why he can't live without you. Men don't like it when women try to persuade them to do something they're not ready to do. Begging him to come back only reinforces why he can in fact live without you very nicely. Keep in mind that desperate and needy are natural men-repellents.

How to Get Your Man Back Without Looking Desperate

Men are attracted to confident women who are happy. Remember, you're a catch. You're a prize. Any man would be lucky to have you. So don't waste your time trying to convince any man to be with you. You are your own person.

3. Taking responsibility for the breakup on your part is a huge deal. Is it really fair to blame the whole thing on him? The answer is likely no although your ego probably begs to differ.
As the saying goes, "It takes two to make it and two to break it". If you were being totally honest with yourself, surely there were some aspects of the relationship you could have handled better.

4. Wait and let him contact you. A man (the hunter) places value on something he has to work for. Don't make things too easy for him. Rather than calling him in a moment of weakness, call a friend instead to express your feelings.
Absence makes the heart grow fonder and eventually he'll wonder what you're up to. He will contact you for one of the following reasons:

a. He's curious how you're doing without him and wonders what you're up to
b. He wants a booty call whereby you should politely turn him down (you're broken up, remember?)
c. He genuinely misses you and wants to see you

Only agree to see him and talk if the reason is letter c.

5. Make yourself priority number one. Put yourself first for a change and only worry about you. When he approaches you, don't try to pick up where your relationship with him left off.
Show him you've evolved both mind and spirit since you were last together. And above all else, don't let him convince you that you're the sole reason for the breakup. Who started it is irrelevant at this point. How you both handle things from here on out is what matters now.

One last thing, and please be totally honest. Is he 100% worth getting back? Is really worthy of you? Simply put, you deserve nothing but the best.

Where To Spend The Holidays

header
Where To Spend The Holidays could be a question without an easy answer especially for those with grandparents that always expect children and grandchildren to show up on christmas. I know many nowadays that are taking a trip to a sunny beach over the christmas holiday season because they want to skip the stress and demands. Unfortunately not everyone has the ability go travel and spend a lot of money either. In my opinion is the most important thing on holidays to spend time together with family and friends but also to give yourself some time for whatever you desire to do. If its home or abroad is not essential but to relax from running in the rat race is great. I hope you get some inspiration about holidays from todays article!

A long standing argument between many couples is the one that comes up every time there’s a special holiday, such as Thanksgiving or Christmas. This is the debate about where the couple will be spending the holidays. It can get to be a pretty serious holiday spoiler if both partners have living relatives that they’re close to. It doesn’t have to be a nightmare every year, though.
For couples with their parents living in the same city or town, it’s not THAT big of an issue. You simply split up your day or, in the case of Christmas, two days. Christmas Eve can be spent at the home of one set of parents and Christmas Day can be spent at the other set’s home. The next year you can reverse it. Another way to handle this is to split up the day by spending the morning at one house and the evening at the other house. When you work things out with everyone ahead of time, this is usually a great way to handle it.
If you’ve got one set of parents living in one location and the other set living in another one, that can be a little more difficult. In this event, you’ll need to probably spend Thanksgiving in one place and Christmas with the other parents. Then you can reverse things the next year.
beach together
Of course, one way to deal with this issue may be to simply host the holidays at YOUR home. In that way, everyone can be happy because all of you will be together in the same place for the holidays. Now, there can be a few things that will throw a monkey wrench into things. Maybe the in-laws don’t get along with each other or with you. One of the parents may not be healthy enough to travel and that can be a problem. That would mean that you and your partner would have to travel to them at least once during the year.
The main thing is that you and your partner can work out something that will amenable to everyone. People don’t always work together, though. For instance, your partner’s mother may not like you and will refuse to give in gracefully as to sharing the holidays. There’s not a lot you can do in that situation other than let your partner handle her. Hopefully, he’ll have both of your best interests at heart when he does so.
There may be instances where you and your partner will need to spend the holidays apart in order to spend them with parents and other family members. It’s not the ideal situation since couples should be able to spend the holidays together whether their parents are a part of the celebration or not. The thing to remember is that this is something that everyone must cooperate on or people end up being upset and angry. Sadly, sharing and cooperation are things that even parents need to be taught. If this is part of your situation, don’t hesitate to explain the word “fairness.” It can be your Christmas gift to them.

this stuff works!…maybe too well?
